Missed Flight Due STA Travel Incompetence

I booked a trip via STA travel, a trip to Buenos Aires from Johannesburg via São Paulo then to rio, I booked via a travel agency in order to avoid having to do extensive research and bookings on my own. However I was met with great disappointment when the travel agency proved to NOT know what they were talking about. As we were preparing for the trip, we clearly asked what VISAs or vaccinations would be required for us to go to South America. An email was sent , and in red bold font, we were told that we DID NOT require any vaccine or VISA prior to our travels. However upon arrival to the airport and airline, we were told that we were required to be vaccinated for yellow fever prior to departure. The strange thing is that, we received an email from one of the Rosebank consultants saying that, there are NO VISAs or ANY VACCINES required to go to South America. The only thing that MAY be required is a valid yellow fever vaccine international certificate upon RETURN TO SOUTH AFRICA FROM BRAZIL. We were clearly advised INCORRECTLY. STA TRAVEL gave us the WRONG information, and as a result, we have to incur extra costs for our trip for a shorter duration of stay. This is very disappointung for a seemingly reputable agency, and I’m honestly disgusted by this level of service. STA travel needs to compensate us for the FUNDS and TIME lost due to their incorregible mistake. This proves that are not well researched in what they are supposed to be specialized in.
