Disgusting service from Sta Travels

On the 2nd January I took a trip to Egypt through Sta Travel. I had paid the R1000 to secure my package, which according to them, means that there won't be any price changes to your package. My package included a shuttle from the airport to the hotel on my arrival and from the hotel to the airport on my departure.

A few days before the trip my airline was changed from Kenyan Airways which was supposed to land in Cairo at 08:10 to Ethiopian Airlines which was now landing at 01:20 in Cairo, resulting to an extra night for accommodation. I had to change my flight from Cape Town to Johannesburg, at a cost, which Waseem Ismael, from Sta Travel promised would be reimbursed.

When I arrived in Cairo there was no one to fetch me from the airport at when I finally made my way to the airport the hotel had no booking in my name. It was early hours of the morning so I could not stay on the streets so I booked my self into the hotel for the night at 80 US and sorted the accommodation with Sta travel on the next day. Again on my day of departure there was no one to fetch me from the hotel to the airport, again I used Uber.

On my return I contacted Waseem Ismael and informed him about all the extra costs and to my surprise, he did not respond to my email. I then wrote on St Travel Facebook page and Wassem immediately responded to my email, informing that he has escalated the matter to his manager.

Indeed I received a phone call and an email from Charlie van der Walt, apologising for transfer complications in Egypt and promised that they "would be refunding the transfers and the additional night paid for at the hotel and they just need to get confirmation from the hotel on the price so the ycan sent it to their finance department". She then asked for my banking details.

After two weeks of silence from Charlie van der Walt I sent her an email requesting an update. She then told me that the the transfers and additional night would be refunded back to me on the next day, the 4th February, which was now a total of R703, according to her. I asked her to break down the amount for me, since I had paid 80 US for the night at the hotel. After several attempts of trying to contact them my emails and messages have been ignored by both Charlie van der Walt or Sta Travel's Facebook page.
