TAKING CUSTOMERS FOR A FAT RIDE
Last week Monday we delivered our car to Craig Solomons, an apparently reputable mechanic to have the engine of the car overhauled. On leaving our vehicle there, Mr Solomons proceded to put his wife and child in the car and drop us off and drove around with the car. He promised delivery the Wednesday evening, after which we only received the car back on Saturday. I found receipts from KFC and Cash Converters in the console for Satuday morning, which once again proves he had been driving around in the car. Nevertheless, on delivery of the car it was making a noise which is hadnt been before and he said it was the power steering. I took the car for a full assessment yesterday by a reputable company, which tell me that Mr Solomons had indeed, infact, not overhauled the engine and had just done a patch up job. We were charged for parts and labour which he infact did not replace. He charged us R7600 for a job that actually costed half the price. Yesterday his business partner, Ricardo Vergotine came to see me and tried to sort the issue out. Today he came to see me again with a total different invoice as what was given to us in the first place. We will be taking legal actions.
