Discusting service
I booked my inverter in on 26 July 2026 at SPRINGBOK MOTOR REWINDS, in Springbok, Namakwaland for fault-finding and inspection. The reason for the inspection was that my new solar panel was not charging the inverter. The following day, I was informed that the unit was damaged and could not be repaired. I was nevertheless charged R200 for the inspection and fault-finding. When the inverter was returned to me, it was not properly reassembled. It was handed back with parts stripped and wires cut. This left me with a unit that was not in the same condition in which I had submitted it. After receiving the inverter, one of your employees assisted me in putting it back into my vehicle. During this interaction, he suggested that he could "make a plan" for me. He subsequently visited me at Springbok Caravan Park, where he brought a second-hand inverter and suggested removing the lithium battery from my inverter and installing it into his second-hand unit. He quoted me R5,000 for this work. I declined the offer. I had to leave Springbok Caravan Park the following morning and continue my journey, leaving me with my inverter in a disassembled condition. I subsequently emailed a formal complaint to the owner, Nico. Nico contacted me by telephone, apologised for what had happened, and assured me that his company does not normally provide such poor service. He then personally promised me that he would arrange to collect my inverter from Kuifkopvisvanger Caravan Park Velddrif. Unfortunately, from that time until today, 29 September 2026, this promise has not been honoured. I have repeatedly received excuses as to why the inverter has not been collected.
