Warning to Consumers: My cousin's experience with Spot a Loan
My cousin app**** for a R30,000 loan with Spot a Loan after being informed that her application had been pre-approved and that her credit score was good. Her points of contact throughout the process were Marlein Grobler and Meagen. She was then advised that she needed to pay a R400 administration fee before the loan could be paid out. She made the payment as instructed because she believed the information she was given. Since making the payment, She did not receive the loan, and communication has become very limited/no response at all. I am sharing her experience to encourage other consumers to exercise caution and to do thorough research before paying any upfront fees. They are at first very constant by WhatsApping you and calling you. After you pay the admin fee they stop communicating.

Spot A Loan ****
Hi, I was approved for a R10000 loan by spot a loan and the person who was helping me was Zizipho, after I paid R450 service fee they went quite..I tried calling them even emailing but still cant get hold of them. They are a ****, if they wont help me they should refund me.

Spot A Loan ****
Hi, I was approved for a R10000 loan by spot a loan and the person who was helping me was Zizipho, after I paid R450 service fee they went quite..I tried calling them even emailing but still cant get hold of them. They are a ****, if they wont help me they should refund me.

Worst service ever!!
I’m very disappointed in the service I got from them. The consultants are friendly and hands on at first. Once you pay their admin fee they ghost you. They send you a loan offer letter and once their admin fee is paid they come up with hidden clauses which states that the fee doesn’t guarantee you a loan. This is just one of those companies that will deceive you and sell you non-existent services.

Worst service ever!!
I’m very disappointed in the service I got from them. The consultants are friendly and hands on at first. Once you pay their admin fee they ghost you. This is just one of those companies that will deceive you and sell you non-existent services.

UNFORSEEN Urgent Medical Expense. MY OWN Bank said no! (criteria not met credit score only 605) THANK YOU Spot A Loan! R25000 in my account. EASY APPLICATION Process...FROM START CLARITY & Salesperson was helpful and easy to chat too...Nothing Beats personal attention & someone that understands. The R950 was definitely worth it. Spot A Loan if they can't help Nobody Can!

I was so happy,it saved my life. I was previously ****med by other supposed loan companies.. I was very skeptic when I paid the R750 loan fee. Thank you Marlein for taking time to explain to me, Thank you for being persistent, Best R750 I've ever spent. I could finally pay school fees.. Pay cash loans.. Has anyone ever received a loan through these people. They are asking upfront R750 as in immediately, if you pay it tomorrow it is R950? And you can get a loan few days later. I have been ****med so many times.

I was contacted and persistently pursued by Marlein on 28 November 2025, during which I was informed that I qualified for a loan of R80,000, which was later changed to R60,000. The issue is not the persuasion itself, but the misrepresentation and deceit involved. I was led to believe that I qualified for a loan, only for this to change after engagement. Once a fee was paid, communication significantly declined. Calls stopped, and messages were either ignored or barely acknowledged. This conduct is unacceptable and appears deliberately misleading. People are persuaded to trust and pay under false pretenses, which causes real financial and emotional distress. I strongly caution others against using these services, as my experience reflects a lack of transparency, integrity, and accountability.
