Sportsmans Warehouse run around

Just more than a week ago, I handed in my Fitbit Surge, which I bought 7 months ago. The strap was coming undone and charging it was a big problem. When I handed it in the person at the counter said that Fitbit would contact me. After a week of not hearing anything, I phoned Sportsmans Warehouse Canal Walk. I gave the person my name and reference number and after a while was told that the watch will be replaced. I was very happy to hear that, so I took time out of a fairly busy morning to go Canal Walk the next day to get a replacement fot the Fitbit Surge. At the information counter I was then told that the watch is still in Johannesburg being assessed and they have not heard what the way forward is. The person that I spoke to the previous day made a mistake and must have looked at the wrong reference number. I did not only give the reference number, but also my Surname, which is not a very common name. I am livid to say the least, since it is my time, my petrol and parking money that Sportsmans Warehouse has wasted. An apology does not alter that. Apart from sitting with a Fitbit Surge that does not come cheap and is in a dismal state after only 7 months, the back-up service of Sportsmans Warehouse leaves a lot to be desired.
