Sportsmans forces me to pay a higher price than the label on their items

On Sunday 5 March my husband purchased shorts from Sportsmans Warehouse in Centurion. He tried on a pair that cost R230, and liked it so much that we took 2 more pairs and proceeded to the paypoint. When we got there we were surprised to find that we are being charged R250 instead of R230 per pair of shorts. Upon closer inspection it became obvious that the first pair of shorts (old stock) was marked R230 but the other two pairs (new stock) were marked R250. We asked that we should be charged R230 for all 3 pairs since this was a ,misunderstanding, but the sales person refused and instead charged us R250 for all 3 pairs despite one of the pairs clearly being marked R230. I have photographs of all the labels and prices.

Good customer service would have been to apologise for the incorrect pricing, and to give us all 3 pairs for R230 each. Poor customer service would have been to charge us R230 for one pair and R250 for the other two pairs, per the labels and pricing on the goods. The terrible staff at Sportsmans went beyond even this, and charged us R250 for all 3 pairs.

We were embarrased and inconvenienced and eventually just left because R20 literally won't make us any poorer, but the bad taste this experience has left will not be forgotten soon. The embarrasment of having to go to a different cashier (I presume some manager or something) and being made out to be greedy or unwilling to pay in front of other customers and the delays of having to ring everything up twice was extremely upsetting. Do your staff even get any sort of training in customer service? I saw the computer screen when they rang up the items, and there are various reasons for giving a discount (such as incorrect pricing or different pricing on the website or whatever). Would it really have been that hard to just do the right thing??

This sort of incident gives a franchise a bad name, and I will be sure to tell everyone I know about this terrible experience.
