Refusal to exchange compression saying I damaged when fitting them

Bought compression socks my size and tried to return them and told they damaged they could accept them after I just tried them on and felt they were too tight for 350 rands and wanted a size higher 10-12. Just has ankle ORIF and that was supposed to help with swelling on my ankle.
