CONSUMER *****!!!

I purchased 2 x pull-up bars (one for a friend) from the Centurion branch in Byls Bridge Promenade valued at R900 each on 23 March for the lockdown period. There were about 5 boxes on the shelf at the time. When I opened my box, it was second hand, damaged, without a manual and MISSING A PART making it unusable. After complaining on Facebook (with pics) and receiving a response 19 days later, I received a phone call from a very arrogant PJ Bosman (who should be fired for his despicable PR s****s) and who ARGUED with me that it was NOT INTENTIONAL. He did not even apologize nor take full accountability.

Please explain to me how it was UNINTENTIONAL that a used, damaged product (missing an integral part) was UNINTENTIONALLY packed in a box, UNINTENTIONALLY sealed, UNINTENTIONALLY put back on the shelf for resale. THIS IS CONSUMER *****!!! Honestly, if I had received a humble apology I would gladly have accepted it and let it go. But no, this arrogant representative argued non-stop back and forth with me. Then he changed his story...he said that he meant they did not INTEND to upset a customer. So...you were hoping you got away with it then?

I expected a sincere apology from PJ and for Sportsmans Warehouse to take responsibility for this. No, I got an argument and excuses. Own up, it’s amazing how far a sincere apology goes…especially for a customer who spent R4000 on gym equipment. I am more infuriated with how this was handled than anything else!!!

This is going to the Consumer Council now!
