Lack of haste and urgency regarding IBT process

Good day

I am writing this mail regarding the poor management of the IBT process at the Tygervalley store. On Thursday the 20th of July, sportscene had an online sale. There were some shoes which were marked 75% off but not avaiable online. There were however some shoes at other stores. I proceeded to contact sportscene Tygervally and spoke to Jainoodien. There were four models I was interested in. The Nike Huarache Untility (R429), The Nike Roshe Flyknit in Black and Red (R349) and the Nike Airmax 1 Moire in grey (R349). I understand that some of these shoes online could be damaged goods. I called and spoke to this guy Jainoodien and asked him to see if he can get any sizes from 6-9 for me of all the shoes and if he can get 1 of each too that would be ok.

I spoke to him around 9. I then got a call from him around 15:30. I knew he had to make quite a few calls because of the big request but then he says he didnt get a chance to look at my request because he was busy on the floor. I know that with sale items it is time sensitive because it sells so quick so i was a bit dissapointed there. He said he will get onto it asap.

Friday the 21st I get a call from Jainoodien around 10 and he said his manager (I belive the lady who is pregnant at the store) said I need to come in first to pay the IBT fees. I was thinking why on earth did they not tell me this the previous day. I then went to the store around 2pm after mosque to pay. They had a list printed out of all the available shoes and it was A LOT. I marked off what id like. (6 huaraches, 3 Airmaxes, 6 red Roshes and 6 Black ones). I maximised to ensure I at least get what I wanted. It came to 21 pairs of shoes I was prepared to pay for. At this point i believe they already called and have all the shoes on hold at stores for me.

I then waited and heard nothing on Monday the 24th. I went in on Tuesday the 25th and the manager (the lady who was pregnant) told me they sent out an email to all the stores and that they will have confirmation by Thursday. She said Jainoodien will contact me the Wednesday to follow up. As you already know with these cases I heard nothing from them the Wednesday and Thursday. I went in the Friday and all they have to tell me was that only 1 store got back to them and 1 pair of Huaraches was on the way. This for me was utter ******* as their lack of urgency with such a time sensitive request was the reason for this. They were too lazy to pick the phone up and make some calls to sort out the request.

I take you to capegate. I have a similair request but for 1 model (Airmax 1 Ultra Flyknit) and sizes 6-9. The request was sent the same Thursday morning and I got all the shoes the following Thursday the 27th. So how is it that "China" and the guys at Capegate go above and beyond and see to the customers and Tygervalley has such laxed processes? Props to Capegate though. Always a nice experience there.

I work close to Tygervalley but will never ever use that store again. I wasted so much airtime and petrol trying to reach out to them. They dont follow up with you when they say they will and end up wasting your time. If somebody tells me they going to do something I expect them to do it. and not waste my time and money. I lost out on some great shoes at an amazing price all to the lack or willingness to address a request. Maybe the email was the most efficient way to communicate to all stores, but with the well priced sale items, picking up the phone and calling is the most effective. I am not a happy customer at the moment. Managements tone does not pose well for that store.

Good day se****
We’re so sorry to hear you had a bad experience in our store! This definitely isn’t what we want to hear, and we’ll be sure to address the issue to ensure this doesn’t happen again. We’ve passed your details on to the manager, who will get in touch with you directly.
Thanks,
The Sportscene team
