Difficult getting a statement

I have a Spotscene acc which I paid up in Nov 2016 , however, I don't have a paid up letter. I recently got emails saying that I owe the acc and it was handed over to some attorneys in Mar 2018. All I needed was a statement from Nov 2016 to date so I can see how did the acc end up owing about R800 but they are taking me from pillar to post, Sportscene says they can't give me a statement because the acc was handed over to attorneys, the attorneys says they can't give me a statement because the acc was handed over to them only in Mar. So Nhlakanipho from Sportscene Newtown Junction basically told me that I won't be able to get a statement since the attorneys said so. I won't be paying money that I don't know how it accumulated and if it's for magazines and funeral covers that I don't know of I won't be paying it. Is it that difficult to get just a statement?? Really now?? They are telling me about the law and staff, is that law of them not saying I'm entitled to get a statement as a client??
