Cash Out Unavailable on Two Consecutive R5,000 Bets

I am extremely disappointed with my recent experience with Sportingbet and would like the company to properly investigate what happened.

On Saturday 15 August and Sunday 16 August 2026, I placed two separate bets with R5,000 stakes. On both occasions, Cash Out was apparently unavailable from the beginning of the bets until the selections were settled.

Sunday 16 August bet

My Sunday bet was:

* Real Madrid — Won — 17:00 * Liverpool — Won — 19:00 * PSG — Lost — 20:45 * Lazio — Lost — 21:15

The stake was R5,000, with potential boosted winnings of approximately R65,042.

The timing is particularly important.

Liverpool finished at approximately 19:00 and had already been settled as a winner. PSG was not scheduled to kick off until 20:45, meaning there was approximately 1 hour 45 minutes between Liverpool finishing and PSG starting.

Lazio was scheduled for 21:15, giving approximately 2 hours 15 minutes after Liverpool finished.

During this period, my bet was still active with only two selections remaining. I repeatedly checked my bet because I expected that, if Sportingbet’s Cash Out system generated an offer, I would at least have the opportunity to accept a reduced payout.

However, there was never a Cash Out amount offered at any point.

The slip displayed “CASH OUT CLOSED”.

This also happened the previous day

This was not an isolated incident.

On Saturday 15 August, I also placed a separate R5,000 bet, with potential boosted winnings of approximately R69,417.

Again, Cash Out was unavailable throughout the bet.

This means the same situation occurred on two consecutive days involving R5,000 stakes.

Sportingbet’s response

I contacted Sportingbet and was told that Cash Out is dynamic and is not guaranteed to be available for every bet, event or betting type.

I understand that Cash Out may not be guaranteed.

That is not my complaint.

My complaint is that Cash Out appeared to be completely unavailable throughout both bets, and I have not been given a specific explanation for why.

I want Sportingbet to investigate the actual records for these bets and answer the following:

* Why was Cash Out unavailable from the beginning of these two bets? * Was Cash Out deliberately disabled on either bet? * Was there a technical or system issue? * Was the R5,000 stake or the type of bet relevant to Cash Out availability? * Was any Cash Out value generated at any point? * Is there any account-level restriction affecting my Cash Out availability? * Why was there no Cash Out offer during the 1 hour 45 minute period after Liverpool finished and before PSG started, while my bet was still active?

I also have evidence from Betway showing that on another R5,000 bet, a Cash Out amount of R248.68 was still offered very late in the matches, even though my position was not favourable.

I understand that different bookmakers operate differently, so I am not saying Betway proves Sportingbet was required to offer Cash Out. I am providing it simply to demonstrate why I am questioning the complete absence of any Cash Out opportunity on my Sportingbet bets.

I am not accusing Sportingbet of deliberately withholding Cash Out. I am asking for a proper investigation into what happened.

I have screenshots showing the two Sportingbet bets, the R5,000 stakes, the selections, the match times and the “CASH OUT CLOSED” message.

Given the circumstances, I have asked Sportingbet to investigate and consider refunding my R5,000 stake on the Sunday bet as a goodwill resolution.

I believe I deserve a specific explanation based on the actual records of my bets rather than another general explanation of how Cash Out works.

Sportingbet, please investigate these two bets and explain why Cash Out was completely unavailable throughout both of them.
