RAT INFESTATION IN LINDOS PLACE MIDRAND - LACK OF COMMITMENT FROM KOBUS ERASMUS

<p>I am not an owner at Lindos complex, however have been leasing a unit for the past 9 years and have never experienced such un-hygiene before. For the past year and a half we have laid one complaint after the other regarding the RAT/Rodent infestation in the yard. Concerns and complaints were handed over to the previous caretaker and the current person in charge of the complex and it seems that these have fallen on deaf ears. I am particularly concerned as there are families with small children (including ourselves), and this problem seems to getting worse by the day. We find that our bins in front of the door is ripped apart most mornings, even with the bin management which we have as an individual household. These rodents are an extreme pest as they find their way into the engine of some cars parked in the yard too. My neighbour recently found a few in his engine and one in the car one morning. The family below us experienced constant issues with these RATS (and I am sure they are not the only family), to a point that their door and windows leading to the back yard/garden has to remain closed all the time. They found two RATS in their home when they return from work/school. I am sure there is no need to go any further with how bad the situation has become as this is enough proof of what families in Lindos have been going through. It would be in the best interest of the Trustees to address and resolve this matter as soon as possible to avoid further complaints and issues arising as a result of this infestation. I would also like to suggest that a letter is sent out to owners/tenant addressing them around deposing of ******* in the bins so they too are held ACCOUNTABLE for the cleanliness of our complex, I think it’s the right thing to do as I have found most people doing the opposite. Lindos is a safe complex for many families and I cannot stand by after all these years and watch people move come and go and not give a damn.</p> <p>I would like to thank you for listening and hope that this matter can be resolved as quickly and swiftly as possible.</p>
