Appalling Service and Overcharging Trap, BEWARE!

Splash Plumbers - Port Elizabeth Appaling service! Had a drain issue, and asked Martin to come and assist. They took over two weeks to fix the issue, with multiple contractors drifting through our home. Eventually, I received a suprise invoice of nearly R40 000.00. Refused to pay, and was harrased by him telephonically and on email. Handed over to the debt collectors, and received threats for payment. Refused to pay and stood my legal ground. After all of this, I got a plumber in with 25+ years experience, and he said that job should not have been more than R7500 at the most. They overcharged and made a real mess of things. They even tried to charge me to plant back the grass that they dug up. I would say avoid this company at all cost. My main concerns for other consumers are: Significant difference between the initial verbal assessment/estimate and the final scope and cost Lack of clear written authorisation and cost transparency when the job expanded Difficult and confrontational handling of a legitimate cost dispute I would advise anyone considering this company to insist on a detailed written quotation before work starts, require written approval for any additional work or costs, and keep thorough records of all communication.While the matter has now been closed at a much lower amount, the overall experience was stressful and time-consuming.
