Poorly contructed and designed helmets

I bought a Spirit Evo-R helmet in October 2016 from Motorcycle World (not at fault here, just stating). I did this after being satisfied with a previous Spirit helmet (FF Trixie, or something similar) that I purchased for my fiancé. I used it with the stock visor. A few weeks after the left side of what they call “Outer Visor Locking Switch” (which my fiancé’s FF Trixie did not have) popped out at 120km/h while I was closing the helmet. Obviously I could not find the “Outer Visor Locking Switch” again, and had to struggle home with the visor flopping about on the left side. It is clear that the “Outer Visor Locking Switch” is *******, as they provide you with a spare set of left and ride side. I replaced the missing left one with the spare one and carried on with my life. Since both left and right side popped off frequently, but at lower speeds, making it possible to find it, pick it up again and put it back on the helmet. Since I had also bought a tinted visor, putting the right hand side one on the right of the helmet and the left hand side one on the left of the helmet. It popped off so frequently (both while opening and closing the helmet) to the point, where I stopped using the helmet for more than 2 months. I contacted Spirit, who indicated I should bring the helmet to them to have it checked out. I drove from Stellenbosch to their office in Montague gardens. The person there said the he had replaced the mechanisms, but as I was sceptical about the quality of the product, I bought a spare set of “Outer Visor Locking Switch” at R80. I used the helmet for a total of 4 trips from their offices before the right side popped out again (again at 120km/h while closing the visor). Obviously, from being frustrated with the garbage helmet, I lost my temper and ripped the left side off as well. I carried on home with no visor and gave the helmet a kick when I got home. The amount of damage to the helmet from a kick (with obviously less force than a 60km/h collision with a stationary object) is worrying. It obliterated the helmet. The inners flew out of the helmet and down the street. When e-mailing Spirit about this, they did not even bother to reply. Before you think it is just me that doesn’t know how to operate something as complicated as a visor, I’ve been riding for more than 12 years and a 100 000km and had 5 different helmets in this time, none of them with a single issue. This garbage should be pulled from the market before it causes a death.
