SPEED QUEEN MARVEL

In 1995 we bought a Speed Queen heavy duty washer - yes, 25 years ago. Do I have complaints? On the contrary. Since then, it has never been serviced or repaired. Now that's way over 2000 washes. Recently we moved to Cape Town, and of course the machine went with. To our dismay, it wouldn't fit through the bathroom door. So I disassembled it - took off the cabinet - hoping to get it through in parts, But this didn't work. I noticed how well the machine had been made - clear testimony to a fine, quality product. I replaced the drive belt which now had multiple cracks - after 25 years!. Any case, we've done some washes outside until we decide what to do. But it'll be a sorry day if we say goodbye to a really great washing machine. Well done Speed Queen!
