Outstanding Hospital bill

Thomas van Rensburg with membership number was admitted at Wilgers Hospital in Pretoria on the 12.06.2015. He received 24 hour authorisation for his treatment (auth number: NEO***). In November we received a note from the Hospital to say that Spectramed has not paid the bill which amounted to R 19 728.71. I then contacted your claims department and every time there was a different reason as to why payment will not be made. Please see the following reasons I have heard over the past couple of weeks:<br> <br> The member only had the medical for 9 months - it was determined that the member was in fact under his wife's medical aid until she passed away. He then had to get a new membership number because they had different joining dates. So it was a continuation of membership.<br> The member's hypertension might be the cause - we got letter from the doctor as advised by your consultant<br> The member's authorisation was declined- He had authorisation granted to him in June<br> 4 months has passed therefore you cannot review the query - They are the ones that did not make payment.<br> <br> And when looking for a manager to escalate they are always in meetings and never return messages. Disappointing really
