Cancellation Period

After about 15 years with Spectramed I cancelled my membership. A broker advised me to give 30 days notice which I did. This was in 2012. In 2014 a company(ergometrix) informed me that the account was handed over to them by Spectramed for not giving 3 months notice. Apparently I signed for this when taking the membership years ago. Why did they not advise me, the client(and not the broker that I need to stay on for another 3 months(hopefully with full benefits). Reading through a couple of complaints against Spectramed, why in some cases did the consultants say that if you want to resign you must give 30 day's notice. 90 Days is absurd and if this goes any further I am sure the Consumer's Protection Act will be on my side. The<br> broker in this instance did all the paperwork and also said that it is against the law to belong to 2 medical aid schemes at one time. I am convinced that 30 days is a fair notice period. I am now threatened with legal action, blacklisting and legal costs. NOT FAIR!!! SHAME ON THE TREATMENT FROM SPECTRAMED AFTER ALL THESE YEARS!!!!
