Ill treatment at optometrists rooms

<p>I was so hurt and disappointed at the way Pennys receptionist Darma (mind the spelling) treated me initially I phoned and explained that my glasses wear broken and I couldn't drive and needed contacts in the mean time. Each time I phoned Jasmine was busy and she told me to phone after 2:00pm , I called after 2 and she was still busy and Darma said she would call me as they would check if I they have contact lenses to give me. I did not receive a call until I decided to ask someone to drive me to the practice as my eyes were painful and I had a headache. She told me she tried to call and the line was engaged anyway I got there and tried on some glasses and I chose a pair , she told me she would send a quotation . I then enquired about the contact lenses and told her I won't be able to drive back home from work. At this time Darma was irritable and her voice was now raised , mind you there were other patients and she had no right to speak to me in that manner in front of people. She went to jasmine and jasmine asked which contact lenses I need . Mind you I've only ever worn lenses when my glasses had a problem and the time I reused my old frame . Both times the contact lenses where fitted by penny and jasmine . So I told her I<br />need the ones that will last till I get my glasses back . Darma came back with the contact lenses and handed them over to me . I then told her sorry but I can't insert them my self , she angrily told me You were busy and can't teach me now and so was jasmine. I said I'm willing to wait till jasmine is done she said no still in a high pitched angry voice I will have to come back tomorrow . I then told her fine she can keep the lenses and the glasses I'll find another<br />optometrist. I was very upset at her behavior , I'm a health care professional myself and no very well that her treatment violated my rights as a patient. Even when I told her I won't be able to go home she was not sympathetic, the I would Have to risk my life and drive home. This kind of treatment is unacceptable and I really think my skin color contributed on Darmas behavior and I will take this up with the health counsel as well.. </p>
