You are not the only one suffering so sit down and stop complaining!!!
I went to Spec Savers Festival Mall on the 28th January 2020 to get new spectacles, did everything on the day. I took up the special for buy 1 get 1 free prescription sunglasses offer. I was advised that my spectacles would be ready in 7 - 14 days time. My medical aid paid the 2nd February 2020.
I have been calling into the store following up for the last two weeks, i was told that the delay is due to "the frame i chose", the frame i chose i designed or manufactured internationally. The other day, the is a backlog due to the special because of the offer's high demand. The other days the reason for the delay is with the Spec Saver Lab because all Spec Saver branches uses the same Lab, i am not the only one. What *******!!!. However i let it go, i mean why give me a time frame if you knew all this before, or better yet why not warn me that Mr Chaka you should know that your preferred frame is international thus it would take longer than the standard provided time. Nevertheless we are here now.
Yesterday i get an sms saying Mr Chaka your spectacles are ready for collection. I get there and the consultant tells me that only one pair of the ordered two pairs of spectacles is available and the other one she is not sure when it will be delivered. Worst of all the available specs for collection are the sunglasses, really? really? How do you prioritize the plus 1 over the primary order? Am i supposed to now work wearing sunglasses??
It is almost a full month without Spectacles that i paid for. Reason i went to the optometrist is that i am suffering from blurred vision and migraines. As far as Specsavers is concerned "you have been suffering from this, so why not suffer a bit longer because you chose an international frame or better yet you are not the only one suffering so sit down and stop complaining".
I need my spectacles and i need them now, so we can part ways. I doubt i will be doing any business with Spec savers in future.
Obviously the consultant is not blame her, but the back up stories we are given here as South African Citizens lack imagination.
