SPECSAVERS QUALITY OF FRAMES

I have been a customer of Specsaver for the best part of 15 years, not once having the problem I am experiencing now.

27 November 2024 : Had my eyetest at the Pretoria North branch 13 December 2024 : Collected my 1st set of frames – this frame was from the “grey” selection, but I was told although it was cheaper it was still good quality. 14 January 2025 : 1st set of frames returned as the right frame broke right off. 15 January 2025 : Collected my 2nd frame – this was a replacement from the Brits branch – same colour, same frame 02 February 2025 : 2nd frame broke right off also on the right side 05 February 2025 : 3rd set of frames collected – this was also from the “grey” collection but a different colour and slightly different frame 22 March 2025 : 3rd set broke on the rim of the lens as I was cleaning the lenses.

This is totally unacceptable. I cannot have frames breaking on me every month for the period of a year, and then them telling me there is no more guarantee!

I am a pensioner and cannot afford a new set every year, and what makes me even more mad, is the fact that I paid a lot for these frames as I had a pair of prescription sunglasses made at the same time. The transaction was paid in cash!

I am so upset with this entire episode. I have to be honest that this is my last interaction with Specsavers. Rather pay more and go to a proper optomotrist!
