Specsavers Damaged my Glasses on Repair, No responses

About a two weeks ago, I handed in my spectacles to have one lens glued back At Specsavers Musgrave. At the time, the glasses were in meticulous condition with no scratches, dings, or sc****s. Just the glue of the lens gave way. I specifically requested a quote and confirmation before the repair was carried out.

After receiving your call that the repairs were complete and the cost was R150, (without first checking with me) I went to collect the spectacles and was shocked to find them badly damaged. The lens was glued back poorly with excessive glue residue visible, and the black coating on the frame was sc****d off in places. And there are visible instrument handling dings with lots of the coating sc****d off.

When I handed the spectacles in I pointed out to lady how good the condition was and it was for that reason I thought it a good idea to have it repaired. And she even acknowledged it.

I am extremely distressed as I took great care of these glasses, and now they have been returned a quite damaged state. All that wrong was the single lens came loose because of the glue. There were no other damages, not even a scratch.

The spectacles look like it was attempted to be repaired by a child not a professional company. It’s shocking to say the least!

I have written to the optician on Tuesday and he has not responded. I called in twice now with no response. I did not take back the glasses upon seeing how badly damaged it was.

Specsavers needs to restore the spectacles to its original condition or replace them.
