Spec-Savers more like spec pay in for lots!
So the only way I could write this review is to give at least one star...if I could they would get minus 5 stars. My mom a 60+ year old pensioner decided to go to spec-savers greenacres, the branch managed by Liesel - and located next to Clicks. To both her and my disappointment. Initially she went for her eye test and was told that the medical aid would cover an amount of R 1740 and she would have to ay the balance of almost R2000.00, this being said she then informed both myself and sister of this, my sister then took it upon herself to contact the branch only to discover that after the test and she had left, they put the add on's, coatings, multifocal lenses etc, this after the optometrist informed her she would only need reading glasses ( so why multifocals? which cost an arm and a leg in any case) My sister then managed to get this changed and was left with a minor pay in amount on R237.00 which was agreeable, upon collection this past Friday, I asked my mom if she had not taken the free sunglasses, which runs until the end of march, and she said to me that NONE of the staff had informed her of this, I then asked her how they then managed to further discount the repayment amount and had to ask the store staff ( who in my opinion are ******** to their own policies - but act as if they own the franchise ) to print an invoice as they never issued her with one, on reading it I noticed a R500.00 discount - when I enquired both staff in store could not explain. I then asked for a manager and was informed that she was in the same centre - about 800m away and we could walk to see her. To which I absolutely negatively responded and told them to call the manager to the store. She, Liesel, then arrived and informed us that a R500.00 discount runs throughout the year and that is where it was costed against, I asked who informed my mom of this, and she rep**** they don't as since no free sunglasses were taken they just app**** it, now my immediate response was that my mom had not been informed of the FREE sunglasses to begin with. Spec-savers manager Liesel instead of trying to resolve the matter told me in no uncertain terms they could then issue the free sunglasses and remove the R500.00 discount leaving my mom with a R700+ pay in, which defeats the purpose of requesting the removal of all their ill required add on's. To say they that they have a sub par coating is an understatement, the "scratch resistant" scratches off just nicely short of 2 years, speaking from personal experience. I would appreciate a courtesy call from someone higher up than the *********** staff as well as manager Liesel, I would like them taken to task on their substandard service, inconsistency in relation to other branches in PE, and for the absolute ludicrous request that the customer walks to the next store. Not like Liesel the manager was much help either! it is atrocious that they do not know their own store policy or even have common customer care courtesy!
