Spec-Savers - Forced me to pay for add on's even when I said I did not want them!!!!

Went to Spec-Savers Glen Marais in Kempton Park, service was good by all staff, but....I requested to not pay in on my specs and only wanted what the medical aid covered, which is the test, regular lenses and a frame(Keycare Plus-Discovery), I still have a perfectly good pair of decent glasses but wanted a spare for incase and seeing that my eyes did not worsten much it seemed like a good idea.

When I was done I was informed that I had to pay in R380.00 for anti scratch on the lenses, I told them that I did not want to pay anything as my medical aid said they would give me the basics and I kept to the basics as per my plan, but they insisted and said that Spec-Savers does not work like that and that I have to pay for the anti scratch because I will not get my glasses if I dont take it.

I enquired from a regular orthopedic around the corner from them when I finnished at Spec-Savers and they said to me that there is no such thing, and that if the medical aid gives me basics that it is possible to only make those, and that the anti scratch is an added extra option, it is not a must have.

I am disgusted by this, and will never use or recommend Spec-Savers to anyone EVER!!!

They **** to me with open eyes and basically stole from me by forcing me to pay for something I did not want.

What a way to cheat people and ***** from them!!!!
