Spec-Savers constantly dropping the ball and letting me down

On the 9th January 2020 I took my frames to Spec-Savers Rosebank to get new lenses made and fitted. They told me it would take no more than 10 days. I followed up numerous times with the staff at the Rosebank store and was told that the glasses arrived but were scratched and they had to send them back to the labs. This carried on until Wednesday the 5th February when I eventually posted on HelloPeter and Twitter and finally got a response from head office. Everyone apologised and assured me they were very sorry and rectified the problem accordingly, money was refunded as a kind gesture etc etc. I eventually received my prescription glasses and I would receive my prescription sunglasses shortly, everything seemed great.

So by the 19th of February when I hadn’t heard anything from the newly appointed staff about my prescription sunglasses I followed up, and was told they were arriving Friday the 21st February.

Then on Friday 21st February I received a phone call to inform me that the glasses arrived and they were scratched or damaged. AGAIN!!! I was told that the labs are very busy and they are outsourcing them to other labs and that they will need to send them back to be repaired.

Now please bear in mind that this all started on the 9th of January and it is now the 24th February. That’s well over 40 days, 30 more than the agreed upon time it would take for the lenses to be made and fitted.

I tried to get all my money back and glasses back in the beginning and go through another optometrist but was told that they would take just as long as they all use the same labs. My lesson has been learned, next time I will go through SmartBuyGlasses and just get them made in China.
