Spec savers - are they safe?

Fooled me for around 17yrs. Yes the staff are always helpful and polite but I fail to understand how after all this time I cannot get lasik and still need to wear glasses. I was told that it differs from person to person and your hormones need to be regulated - I'm 27, I think by now my hormones have regulated! They always tell you that your eyes have gotten worse every two years and you need new glasses - understandable and I always fully believed them. I always had headaches after and they said my eyes are adjusting. Until I went to a different optometrist and I have had the same glasses for four years! My eyes are fine and I don't get headaches at all! I'm going for another check up because I'm overdue but I doubt I need a new pair of 10k glasses. Five stars for staff but optometrists seem to be money hungry.
