Give Spec Savers Clearwater the Bad credit they deserve!

Spec Savers always conducted free eye tests and gave specs for free to all children under the age of 12, for years!

We had booked an appointment for my son, to have his eyes tested again as he needed new glasses which had broken after a year of having them. In Feb, when we visited the Clearwater branch, they were fully booked and the first available appointment we could get could get was the 16th of April 2020. We waited, like all other parents but unfortunately, the pandemic hit us and because of lockdown, the appointment didn't take place.

Today we visited the branch again, hoping to get an appointment quickly because his glasses are broken, now they want to rip people off.

NOW BECAUSE OF THE CORONA PANDEMIC, THEY CHARGE R500 PER CONSULTATION and you have to pay for new specs!

Spec Savers, You guys need to take into consideration that this service that has always been free to children, is essential and not a luxury. Parents didn't get paid. People don't have medical aid. Children can't read and write without glasses if they can't see.

Charge less and warn people. People that had already made bookings prior to lockdown should still be accommodated. Now you want to rip people off in desperate times. I will not support you again!!

Everyone with children that uses their services and supports them, please be aware that they are now changing in full, whether your appointment was made months ago already or not.

Desperate times calls for desperate measures. At least meet parents half way. I'm glad to pay 50% in but what you are doing now is ripping people off.
