Optometrist that should not be trading!

We are outraged by the appalling service from Specsavers Somerset West. Our company driver, Mr. Tokowoyo, needed glasses urgently after his health check-up, as mandated by our company and industry regulations. We chose Specsavers, expecting professionalism, but were sorely mistaken.

Mr. Tokowoyo had his appointment on November 27, 2024, and stressed the urgency since he cannot work without his glasses. Despite this, he has been forced to sit at home on medical leave for two weeks. Yesterday, Specsavers informed him that the original price, which was paid in full, was incorrect. They demanded an additional R2150 because they initially prescribed the wrong glasses and now claim he needs a stronger prescription.

This is completely unacceptable. After two weeks of waiting, being told to pay more than double the original quote is outrageous. When we contacted Specsavers today to get answers, we were met with rudeness and told the extra payment was non-negotiable. Our request for the owner's contact details was flatly refused, and we were told the price was final.

Specsavers Somerset West has shown a shocking level of unprofessionalism and incompetence. Their inability to prescribe the correct lenses has caused unnecessary delays and additional costs. We demand that Specsavers take responsibility for their mistake and resolve this issue without further charges.
