Opportunistic Spec-savers cruelty

Spec-savers is literally a nightmare and a ****. My mom has been using this company for years but as soon as she changed to the one at Shelly Beach mall she had been in a contestant battle. She went to go and get her glasses changed on the 19th of June 2019 and paid R4800.00 for a pair of glasses she can't see with. She told the doctor the day she tried them on that she couldn't see with the glasses and the doctor instead told her she may be diabetic and she should come back another day.

I just want to paint a discriptive picture for the reader. My mom is from Matatiele, for her to go to Shelly Beach she has to travel for over 3 hours. For that doctor to just dismiss her on a speculation that she "might have diabetes" and that she should come back "another day" is added costs on the R4800.00 she paid. She ended up going to another doctor who then told her that spec-savers is a company that is based on reaching their daily financial target hence they insisted on giving her a multi-focal lense, it costs more so they still benefit.

She then went again to the same opportunistic Spec-savers on the 15th of August and was still sent away like a non-paying client. The last straw was on the 25th of September where she was told she should see what she does with the glasses they were hers and they wouldn't help her.

The financial implications that have come with that one ******** optometrist who is opportunistic and has absolutely no regard for the company's clientele has left my family with a partially blind mother who we depend on for driving shattered. She has become an educator who can't do her work to the best of her ability because of her impaired eye sight.

We truly need assistance with this matter as it is beyond our wisdom and power.
