KIDS "FREE" EYE TEST ARE A ****!!!
Absolutely shocking and pathetic. It seems like Spec Savers is running a ****. I called Spec Savers at La Lucia Mall to make an appointment for my 8 year old son. She said theor head office is very fussy about kids, and therefore appointments have to be made online. I went online and tried to make an appointment at 5 stores in and around my area and all 5 stores are fully booked. I called the store back because that didn't seem to make sense. So she explained that I can bring my son in but I will have to pay R580 for the eye test. Spec Savers market kids eye test for free but it is impossible to book an appointment!! So this is a ****. I will now go and book an appointment for him at a different optometrist. Clearly, they cannot be trusted. They are running a ****!
Thank you for reaching out and sharing your experience with us.
We completely understand your frustration and are truly sorry for the difficulty you’ve had booking under our Kids Right to Good Sight initiative.
This programme is very close to our hearts, and we want every eligible child to have access to the free eye test it offers. Unfortunately, the free slots are subject to availability and can fill up quickly, which may be why you’re seeing branches listed as fully booked. Our Kids free bookings are subject to availability. The available time slots showing online are the overall availability of the store, not just for kids' free bookings. Due to high demand, appointment slots for our kids free offer fills up quickly, which may be why you’ve experienced difficulty securing a booking under our Kid's Right To Good Sight offer. Our booking system allows parents to schedule their appointments with their child’s. This option provides a convenient way for the parent to manage their eye care in one visit, ensuring that everyone’s vision needs are addressed. When booking for your child, you’ll see the option to add yourself to a joint appointment if you’d like a check-up too. This makes it easier for families to stay on top of eye health together!
Warmest regardsThe Spec-Savers Team
