Incorrect spectacles
I am really dissapointed in the service I received from canal walk branch spec savers. Firstly I had a eye test done in 2019 and informed the optometrist that I have cataracts in both eyes keep in mind I'm 27. Anyways he does the eye test agrees that he notice it and says he cannothave specs made but instead will refer me to opt****logist. I went in October and November 2019 for both ops and after the op I went back to canal walk. I informed the optometrist that I need specs as I have the false lenses now after the op. I purchased reading specs from clicks which helps me with reading and typing on my phone ( now as I type) anyway he examines and agreed to have specs made for me. ( me not knowing it's readers) waits for sms from them to say specs are done. I went to their branch only to find out its reads the one thing I DID NOT want as I mentioned to him I already bought reader's of R120 which does the same job as his R2000 paid he percribed. Keeping in mind I am a 6th grade teacher and cannot be putting my readers on and off. I needed a pair of spectacles that could be worn every day without giving me headaches like the readers as it's only meant for reading and typing. I informed the manager who was very rude in her approach that I am not happy with this specs also seeing that I paid R950 for antiglare cash, which I mentioned in a driver and would need those for driving at night. No where did the optometrist mention to me that it's reading specs and I won't be able to drive with it else I would have not paid the R950 had I know they would be readers the fact that it does not solve my problem. Then only the optometrist informs I would need bifocal or multi focal which again the manager was very arrogant in her tone stating my age and that medical aid would need motivation for it. One of their workers calls me the next week saying they had many clients in the same situation as me and the medical aid never approved, I then asked her what she was trying to say? That they won't approve me. I was told that after documents were submitted for motivation ( cataract surgery) that I would know in two weeks and that they would CALL me which they DID NOT. I called them after the two weeks passed and was promised to be contacted by the Tuesday. I called them yesterday afternoon. One of the guys took down my details and NEVER CALLED Back. I called them again about 4pm Finally somone picks up and informs medical aid has approved my multifocals. Only to receive a call again today to day I have another CO-PAYMENT for my new lens. And that they would be giving me the old lense that I paid R950 cash for already. So I just refuse to pay another copayment for an error that wasn't my fault. Had the optometrist made the proper specs there would be no need for me to have two seperate copayments. By the way what am I suppose to do with LENS ( first pair of incorrect specs made) if I can't even see properly through them? I just think Overall their service is really bad
