Inconsistent Service and Appointment Availability

I am writing to express my frustration with the service I received at your Bluff Towers branch and the confusion surrounding my son's eye test and glasses replacement. On 16 March 2025, my son's glasses were broken, so I visited the Bluff Towers branch to inquire about when he would be due for a new pair. I was informed that he would not be due for a new pair until March of next year. However, when I visited the Merebank branch, I was told that he is eligible for a new pair now, as he should receive a new pair every year. I then returned to the Bluff Towers branch to clarify the situation, but the lady who initially told me he wasn't due for an eye test was not in.

Instead, a white lady assisted me. She informed me that all appointments are now done online and they are fully booked until the end of May, and I would only be able to secure an earlier appointment if I booked one for myself. I find this approach extremely concerning—why should I be required to book an appointment for myself in order to get my child seen to? It seems unfair that children are being delayed from necessary eye tests, potentially due to business practices rather than prioritizing their well-being.

Truly disappointed in the service I have received!!!!

Hi Kelly.
We sincerely apologize for any frustration or disappointment you’ve experienced regarding the free booking for your child. Unfortunately, our Kids Right To Good Sight appointments are subject to availability, and due to high demand, our schedule has filled up more quickly than anticipated. Bookings can only occur through the Spec-Savers website and not in-store. You need to make an online booking for your child under the kids right to good sight here: https://www.specsavers.co.za/book-an-eye-test

Thank You and Kind regardsThe Spec- Savers Team

Best regards,
