Glenwood Spec-Savers - horrible service, lies and delays.
The glasses that I bought from Spec-Savers 16 months ago and spent nearly 4000 rands on started to fall apart. Literally, fall apart, they are currently being held together with plasters.
I thought 'no worries' I have insurance on them. I go into the Glenwood branch (in Davenport Center) and show them. They tell me that the insurance won't replace them and I need to choose new frames. Once again I think 'no worries' until I am told that the current lenses are too large for any of the frames and that the insurance won't cover it. I am told that I must purchase a brand new pair of glasses.
When I decided to come back and speak to a different employee she was helpful, she told me that I should just pick out a new pair of glasses and that the insurance will cover it. I fill out all the forms, choosing a new pair, pay another 1000 rand. I ask "How long will it take for the new glasses to arrive?". I am told that it will be 7 business days.
9 business days later I call and ask what is happening, maybe I missed the call and they are waiting. Nope, they have not arrived yet. I ask again "How long will it take for the new glasses to arrive?" the new dates are 7 to 10 business days. Frustrated I carry on waiting until 12 business days. This time I decided to drive out to the shop, see them face to face and ask them what is happening. Once again the dates change to 7 to 14 business days. While I am there I am treated poorly and they just tell me it is not here, no apology no ETA, only I will call the distributor.
Meanwhile, I am wearing glasses that hurt to wear. Im due to go for a new Eye test and I wanted to get contacts. I can guarantee it won't happen at this branch of Spec Savers. Besides the one helpful employee, this is a terrible branch, I would recommend nobody goes there.
