Proper spectacles and frames are expensive investments, but if you’re half blind like me, and need to wear glasses every day of your life, do yourself a favour and get your glasses and frames from Specsavers. They have excellent insurance on most of your frames, which means that you are covered if anything happens to your glasses within 24 months. Should you need to make a second pair within 24 months, you’ll only pay 20% of the price you paid for the original pair. If the 2nd pair breaks within 24 months after making the 2nd pair, you’ll only pay 50% of the price for the 3rd pair. That is a really good deal, and great insurance to have on an item that is so critical. I recently bought my sunglasses and latest pair of glasses at the branch at Table Bay mall in Cape Town, and the staff is absolutely wonderful. They are knowledgeable and eager to help, and didn’t mind that I tried on a million pairs, even though they had to clean every single pair before they could place it back on the racks to keep in line with Covid 19 protocols. They offer a big range of frames, and you should find exactly what you want, in whatever price category you can afford.
