Glasses cause worse vision and cintinious headaches, 7 months now!

I went for an eye test and was advised to get glasses, after a months wait i finally got my glasses, i realized from day one that im struggling with the glasses as i struggle to see ahead of me and i get massive headaches! The optometrist said i can wear it all day as my eyes are bad and since wearing these i dont only struggle with headaches but my vision also went worse and can only be the glasses, i hope this can be rectified as i moved to another town due to covid and heres no specsavers but i pray my eye sight isnt worsening cause of this glasses
