FALSE ADVERTISING

On the 2nd September , I went to SpecSavers in midrand. I saw the Woza Woza Mzanzi promotion for R899. After my eye test, I was advised that my prescription does not qualify for the woza promotion. I ended up with a quote of R4000 from a mere R899.

I got my glasses on the 13th September.

I couldnt see properly when wearing the new glasses while working on my laptop or reading books. i thought I get used to the new glasses but its a month now and I still cannot see near vision. I tried my old glasses and I can see near and far.

I sent an e-mail to midrand specsavers and I went to them again on the 14th September, I advised them of my problem.

The optometrist on duty that day did another eye test. She tested Near and far vision and she picked up that my current glasses to cater for my near vision but only for far vision.

I was advised that they can order new glasses with my old script but that would cost me another R2000 excluding frames. I need to buy frames or bring an old pair.

I spend 8 hrs infront of the laptop at work and then another 2-4 hours studying either on my laptop or books yet this was not catered for in my new glasses.

I went to SpecSavers because of their promotion of R899 and now I need to pay over R6000.

Why wasnt my near vision catered for in the first place? I had my old glasses and the lady tested them on some machine, surely she should have seen that they were not single vision
