DISSAPOINTED NEW CUSTOMER - SPEC-SAVERS BRACKENFELL CENTRE
I recntly changed medical aid and current medical aid only allows bifocals. I have been wearing multifocal for years without problems. Since my finances are very tight, I asked the person who tested my eyes at Brackenfell Centre branch to not add anything that medical aid will not cover. I specifically asked him if bifocals will be very different. He was very friendly and rep**** that it will take time to adjust. I did not mind this until I received my specs on Saturday 22/2/25. Ok it was a bit funny but I managed to drive with it and everything was fine until I reached my work place on Monday 24/2/25. I could not see anything on my computer screen. So I immediately googled my problem. Another specs company specifically advised against bifocals if you are working on a computer daily. Now my problem is that the optometrist did not even asked me what type of work I am doing and advised me to not get a bifocal if I work on a computer full day. I would have saved up and came back when I had the money to pay in. I normally go to another optometrist (for many many years) but on the advise of a colleague went to Spec-Savers. No I must add that she went 2 weeks ago and got the best service from N1-City branch. This optometrist did the eye test and they told her it would only cost R700.00 to pay in to take multifocals. She even received a link to view how far her specs is, which I didn't. I had to follow up on the day that they said it would be ready only to be told it will take about a week longer. Now I am sitting with specs that I cannot use - I went back to my old multifocal bye the way. I have to wait for two years before I can get new specs again. Meaning 4 years with the current ones!! I do not have the money to go and pay cash somewhere else. I am so disappointed. I emailed their customer care and was told I will be contacted. This was three days ago and I am still waiting.

I have rep**** to the email received which stated that I would be contacted. I even gave my office phone number - this was on Monday 24 Feb but NO ONE responded. I even send another reply asking them to contact me but without success. Please contact me as requested. So how can they say they received no response from me....
