DAMAGED TINTING OF SPECTICLES

Good day On 28/05/19 my husband received his new tinted prescription spectacles.

On 02/05/20 during lockdown we contacted specsavers at baywest where an answering machine supp**** us with a whatsapp number for execuspecs at MetLife plaza in Port Elizabeth. The assistant there was very helpful.

They promptly contacted us with information of an appointment set up for my husband on Monday 11the May at 10:15.

On inspection of the spectacles the optometrist agreed that the tinting was faulty by no fault of my husband.

We received another whatsapp message stating that my husband had to pay R1660.68 against the insurance on the specs before they would fix it.

I cannot understand why he has to pay this money if the damage is not his fault but a defect of the tinting.

As an essential worker my husband cannot go without his spectacles as he uses it daily to read and write.

Please assist in this regard as we are still waiting for further feedback and contact from specsavers.

Regards Hannelie Muller
