Spark ATM crash, I got burned....
I am writing this to express moreso my concern apart from my disgruntlement.
I was at a spark/capitec ATM by the Cape Town Motorshow and during a transaction of R350, the ATM lost power and after R50 came out.
A security lady in civilian clothing with a 9mm hand gun half falling out her Jean said that she could see the money stuck in the machine but told me that I had to go and sort out the shortfall of R300 at a capitec branch.
First of all, why dont your cash points have UPS's? In the most inconvenient of situations??
I asked your techie why he can't do a stock take on the machine and see it's R300 over and give it to me?
He just said it's not thier problem and I need to sort it out at a capitec branch and when I asked him if he could give proof that the ATM short paid me, he reverted back to the same response...
Now I have to take time out of my day (which I don't have) to ask for R300 back which I can't prove was not handed over to me.
What now?
Who do I speak to to get this sorted out which is going to cost me more in time than anything else??
We are sorry to hear about the frustrations you encountered during your transaction at our ATM this past weekend. There is a process in place in order to rectify this issue, which unfortunately cannot be done on site at the time that this occurred.
When this happens it is a requirement for the cardholder to go to his/her particular bank to follow the Saswitch query process. The bank is then responsible for settling your account should the query result in a transfer.
If you can provide us with more details, we will be able to resolve this issue within the same day.
Please contact us on *** or ***
Once again, apologies for the inconvenience caused.
Thanks and Kind Regards,
Spark ATM Systems
