Westwood Spar, Boksburg. Refusing to give my money back.

Hi, need some advice.

So on the 23rd of September I went to SPAR Westwood in Boksburg to buy a few things. Got to the till and proceeded to pay, on the card machine my transaction was approved amd i receivedthe notificationon my phone that the transaction was successful, but the receipt did not print. I was told to pay again, the first transaction will be automatically reversed by my bank.

So I paid again.

A few days went past and still the transaction did not reverse. So i went back to Spar to get my refund. They told me that i need to bring a printed bank statement as proof that the transaction went through twice and did not reverse.

The next day i went back to Spar again with my proof, i handed the proof to the store manager, but still this was not enough for them to give me my money back. He told me "even if it takes 10 years, my money is safe in his pocket." Then he says they need to confirm with their bank that the money was indeed received.

A few more days goes past, i get a call from Spar, just to be told the money has disappeared, it is not in their account, i need to go to my bank (Capitec) to findout where it is.

I went to Capitec, they confirmed that both transactionc was debited from my account and credited into Spars account. They even gave me a stamped form with reference numbers of the transactions as proof. I took this to Spar demanding my money back. They told me they will let me know.

2 more days goes past, no communication from Spar. Eventually i received an email from them that they received from their bank, stating that they don't have the money. But nowhere in this email is any proof of either one of my transactions.

This is basically theft. My money can not simply dissappear into thin air.
