Unprofessional and rude behaviour

Dear Spar Customer Service Team,

I am writing to express my extreme disappointment and frustration with the service my husband and I received at the Spar store in Mthatha on January 17th.

We visited multiple Spar locations searching for a specific product and arrived at the store in question at S&P at 7:40 pm, only to find the doors locked. Despite requesting to speak with the manager, we were met with rudeness and hostility from staff, including a female employee who refused to serve us.

The manager Unathi Dazela and owner Mark Clark's responses were equally unhelpful and dismissive. As regular customers, we were shocked and humiliated by the treatment. We have documented evidence and are considering sharing it on our social media platforms, which have over half a million followers.

We demand answers and action regarding this incident:

1. Is 7:40 pm the accepted closing time for this Spar store? 2. Does Spar promote and condone this behavior from staff? 3. What measures will Spar take to address this incident and prevent similar incidents?

What disciplinary actions will Spar take particularly against the cashier who bluntly refused to serve us infront of her manager she even closed the till and walk away then manager had to ask another employee to assist us we also have videos of her yelling at us that we won't be helped ? Her name is Asanda Gwana

The "store owner showed the same rudeness as his staff not even geeeting us when he was called, the security pushing us out of the store what an ordeal!!!

We would also like to know what measures Spar will take to address the emotional abuse and humiliation we faced.

This experience raises concerns that our elderly parents, who regularly shop at Spar, may be similarly disrespected and exploited due to their vulnerability and reluctance to speak out.

We appreciate the professional manner in which one staff member handled the situation. We would like to extend our gratification to this gentleman Lungisani Sicengu

Sincerely,

Nasiphi and Sinethemba Ntsangani
