The silent "F" - in prawns

Lets face it, shopping at most Spar outlets is not unpleasant, the outlets I use are normally clean, the staff friendly, the produce fresh in most of them, etc etc. However I read last week of a "special" on 800g of Spar prawns. Awesome I LOVE prawns. Off I went to Vincent Spar, only to be told they do not have in stock. No problem, I took what is known as a "rain check" and paid for the prawns, - the special runs until this weekend. Today I telephoned the Vincent Spar to ask if the elusive prawns have arrived. The fresh produce clerk informed me that the DC (Distribution Center in Port Elizabeth) do not have stock. So now begs the question, - how on earth does a national retailer like Spar advertise a special when they don't even have the stock available? It's something like the "old" story, - how does one pronounce the "F" in prawns. There is no "F" in prawns!! Outrageous.
