SUPERSPAR WATERLOO VERULAM

My husband went to Waterloo Spar in Verulam one evening after work on a weekday to get some much needed groceries. The card machine used to accept his payment did not allow a print out of a receipt. Yet, that money of his purchase was deducted from his bank account which he immediately informed the cashier and manager that was presently dealing with his purchase. He was told that he could not leave the store without a receipt of purchase and would have to therefore leave the groceries behind. However, as he was already greatly inconvenienced and in a hurry to get home (I am pregnant and was alone at home with our other baby (9 months) awaiting my husband's arrival that evening as he helps me once he is home) he trusted the manager's word that he would be "reimbursed within 15 minutes" and therefore went ahead with repurchasing his groceries with another card machine provided by the Spar manager and cashier dealing with his purchase.

I am saddened to say that he returned to the Waterloo Spar to inform them that he was not reimbursed and left the Spar once again without his reimbur*****t. Another unnecessary inconvenience on their part.

I am appalled by this behaviour and their attitude as we are long time customers of the Waterloo Spar.
