Spar Southerwood East London

Dear Sir/Madam I hereby wish to lodge my bad experience at Malcolmess Spar. (Southernwood) East London On 01.06.2021 at 16H00 after work on my way home I went to Spar Southernwood to get my daily bread and stuff. I saw some garlic loaves on a table next to the bakery. I ask the lady if I can BUY one. She gives me one loaf. There was no price or bar/scanning codes on the items. She went with me to the cashier to get a price. The cashier asked for the code. We went back to the bakery where she tried to get a code from a file. After asking three of her colleague’s I told her that I’m going to the person/ s that’s sitting at a desk in the shop. On my way I notice a gentle man with a Spar Black jersey named Chris walking around. I went to him and ask him If I can get a code for the item. He told me I am busy. (this was said so rudely he could address me in a better way more politely) as I was not aware what he was doing. (As per me he was walking around) I told him that it was really not a good way of addressing me since I need a code to pay for my item and not asking him for any charity. I went to the que because I don’t want to lose my place. The lady from the bakery then come with the code. The que now moves in the direction of the desk and I told him that he do not have any manners and that he will not speak to me like that. We now started to argue and shout at each other very loud. The argument got so bad that he instructs his cashiers not to accept my items that I was paying for. He gave it to a lady friend who was also standing in the que. He even told her that she will not pay my items. I invite him outside cos I was now really furious with his rudeness. I decide to go outside so that this rude man can stop the argument. As I went outside he follow me to the door and told the security not to allow me inside the store. At that stage I have no intentions going back in the store. I had to point that as per my experience he does not know how to address a customer in the shop. He is rude and I consider this as no manners. The most disturbing factor is that he had time to argue and be rude and embarrassing BUT THERE IS PRODUCTS THAT DON’T HAVE BAR CODES/SCANNING CODES. (This was not my duty to look for a code if I want to buy an item.) I trust that my complaint will be effectively dealt with. Marelda Ruiters ***
