Spar rotten meat

On Friday 29 September 23, I bought meat (rump tails) on special at the Acres Spar in PE/Gqeberha. At home, as I opened the 1st pack for supper only to be assaulted by the smell of rotten meat. As it is a health hazard to even keep it in the fridge, my husband took it back immediately (a 10-15 mins drive). There, all what the floor manager did was to suggest to take other meat (rump in this instance, seen that we bought rump tail) and the price be deducted from the purchase!! They even made him pay the difference at the high price! I find this an unacceptable resolution for a rotting service, pun intended! What about the horrid experience of opening that pack and the whole kitchen stinking? And the inconvenience of time and petrol to return it?? It was not an item that was wrongly priced for example, it was MEAT UNFIT FOR HUMAN CONSUMPTION! This is how little this shop thinks of their customers who are the source of their income. I had a similar instance with chicken at another Spar a while ago. The manager refunded me AND gave a replacement pack. Disgusting to say the least.
