SPAR RETAIL CROSSING DISGUSTING SERVICE

On 26 May 2015 at around 13:00 i made a purchase at the Spar Retail Crossing in Strubens Valley, Roodepoort for the amount of R134.50 from my FNB card. The transaction was DECLINED however the amount still went through on my account and i therefore had to pay cash. This amount was never reversed since i had paid cash already. Spar owes me R134.50. Then AGAIN on 02n October 2015 i made another purchase at Spar Retail Crossing for the amount of R127.10 which was put through twice on my FNB Card and never reversed.<br> I have all the copies of the till slips transactions which can be provided. I have left a message with a Paul from Spar Retail Crossing and he has never bothered to return my call. This is absolutely disgusting service since i shop at that Spar frequently. I WANT MY REFUNDS on both amounts: R261.60

Hello Brocky25364,

Thank you for bringing this experience of duplicated card transactions to our attention. When this happens the transaction response to the store 'time out's so the store doesn't receive the money twice but the SMS to the customer goes through and the funds are withdrawn from the customer's account. This then goes into a holding account at the bank and only the cardholder can dispute the transaction. Please contact:

FIRST NATIONAL BANK *** (Select Option 3)

STANDARD BANK *** or ***
ABSA *** or ***
CAPITEC ***
This happens to all retailers and the banks are desperately looking for an industry solution. Please be assured that if we could fix this we certainly would as it is damaging to our reputation and if the store received the money twice we will immediately refund it.
