SPAR re-selling used boxes at R5!!!!

The Spar in Tasbet Park, Witbank, are re-selling used boxes for R5. These are boxes which they receive packaged eggs in from their supplier Alzu. When I questioned why they were re-selling them, I was told by Dawie, the floor manager, that "this is the new south africa, if you don't want it don't buy it". I am not complaining about the price, but, the principle of re-selling something that should be thrown away. On what basis does the Spar management decide to re-sell the boxes? Is this principle correct?
