Spar Postmasburg: Double Charges, Lies, and Suspected Internal ****

Be very careful when using card payments at Spar Postmasburg. On 18 Nov, my card "declined" according to the cashier, but no declined slip was given. My bank confirmed the money went off. My partner paid separately, meaning Spar took double payment for the same goods.

Staff admitted "this happens a lot." They promised a refund in 48 hours. It has now been 10 Days. Management (Ruth and Yolandi) have given contradictory stories about who handles accounts. They promised the Store Manager (Mr. Du Plessis) would call me; he never did. Now, they are refusing an EFT refund and insisting on a "Cash Refund" under the table, which avoids a paper trail.

This looks like an organized internal **** where they double-charge customers and hope you don't check your bank app. I am reporting this to the Ombud. Check your slips!
