Spar orchards (Pretoria) selling rotten food

I had a firm believe in the reliability, truth and ability of the Spar group because Spar has been known for very long time for selling quality products. Selling expired food beyond its use by date is ******* because that does carry a health risk. Expired food may contain dangerous amount of harmful bacteria which increases the probabilities of contacting various diseases such as food poisoning as happened to myself. Basically what happened is that I bought banana bread on the 08.05.20 at Orchards Spar in Pretoria, the sell by date on the banana bread was the 12.05.20, however by then it was already rotten, this tangibly indicates that Spar Orchards is exchanging sell by dates on their products and this is ******* and punishable by law. After realizing that their product was rotten, I tried calling them on the number displayed on the till slip only to find out that the number was invalid ***). I immediately alerted the manger, he requested me not to escalate the matter and that he will give me R500 meat for braai.

My health status deteriorated to a point where I had to consult a doctor. Some people who have fragile immune system myself included even risk losing their lives. (Medical bills and doctor’s report as well as prescription can be provided). On the 4th August 2020 I received a call from Nicolle Swart, who I think is Spar legal representative and she promised that she will escalate the matter further, up to so far nothing tangible happened. This is tantamount to ignorance and a tangible proof that Spar Orchards doesn’t have interest of their customers at heart. (proof of communication can be provided).

Customers lives doesn’t matter at Spar.
