Spar Ninapark RUDE NO HUMANITY

Spar Ninapark

I am extremely disappointed in the way an elderly customer was treated at SPAR Ninapark, and I feel this needs to be addressed publicly on HelloPeter.

An 80-year-old lady visited the store for the first time in over a year after her husband became ill and sadly passed away. This was clearly not just a casual shopping trip, but a big step for her. She still had the old small loyalty card that SPAR used to issue.

At the till, the cashier informed her that the card was no longer valid and handed her a new one, explaining that she would need to register. Because of this, she could not access the specials she had specifically traveled to the store for.

What was most upsetting is that when she politely asked the cashier for assistance, she was simply told “no” and refused any help. No effort was made to assist her, no supervisor was called, and no alternative solution was offered.

What would it have cost to show a little kindness? To help her register, or simply call someone who could?

I have worked as a retail supervisor for years, and one of the most important principles we lived by was this: kindness costs nothing. Elderly customers, especially, deserve patience, empathy, and support.

This experience has honestly shaken my trust—not just in the store, but in basic human decency. I expected better from Spar and their Employees.
